MFA Fine Arts presents talks by three alumni of the program: Helia Chitsazan (2023), Dylan Rose Rheingold (2022), and Suyi Xu (2022).


Helia Chitsazan (b. 1995, Tehran, Iran) received her MFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2023 and her BFA in Painting from the Tehran University of Art in 2017. She has exhibited her work at venues including Fou Gallery, where she has held two solo exhibitions, and Rachel Uffner Gallery in New York. Chitsazan currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.


Dylan Rose Rheingold (b. 1997, New York) is a painter born and based in New York, NY. Rheingold received her MFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2022, and her BFA from Syracuse University in 2019. Her paintings have been featured in exhibitions at M+B, Los Angeles, California; V1Gallery, Copenhagen, Denmark; T293, Rome, Italy; The Historic Hampton House Museum of Art & Culture, Miami, Florida; Rusha & Co., Los Angeles, California; Sow and Tailor, Los Angeles, California; Latitude Gallery, New York, New York; Thierry Goldberg Gallery, New York, New York; China Academy of Art, Hangzhou, China; Backhaus Projects, Berlin, Germany; London Paint Club, London, United Kingdom; amongst others.


Suyi Xu is an artist who currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Xu earned her BA in art history and visual arts from Barnard College and her MFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2022. Xu’s paintings are meditations on space, interiors, and architecture that morph into meditations on light and color fields. Xu’s work has been exhibited in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, in solo exhibitions at Apparitions, Mamoth, London, 2024; Free Fall, Europa, New York, 2024; All that is Solid Melts into Air, Fou Gallery, New York, 2022; as well as group exhibitions at Perrotin, Shanghai, 2025; Huxley Parlour, London, 2024; Uffner and Liu Gallery, New York, 2024; and Galerie Hussenot, Paris, 2022. Her works are included in the public collections of Powerlong Museum, Shanghai; Xiao Museum of Contemporary Art, Rizhao, China; and Long Museum, Shanghai.


Talks is a series of lectures by artists, writers and scholars presented by MFA Fine Arts. Talks are held on Tuesdays at 3:00pm at 133 West 21st Street in Room 101C and on Zoom. Participation in the Q&A is limited to MFA Fine Arts students attending the lecture in person.
