MFA Fine Arts presents a talk by Beatrice Glow.

Beatrice Glow is a multidisciplinary American artist of Taiwanese heritage. Her practice spans sculpture, installations, textiles, olfactory experiences, virtual reality sculpting, and participatory performances. Bridging public history with just futures, she questions historical forms of visual and material culture, often in collaboration with culture bearers, researchers and museums to reinterpret collections through contemporary and community-based lenses.

In 2024, Glow was awarded a Creative Capital Award and a National Endowment for the Arts grant. She is currently the artist-in-residence for a research project on the Dutch East India Company’s Batavia shipwreck, culminating in a 2025 exhibition at the Western Australia Museum. Recent solo exhibitions include “When Our Rivers Meet” at the New-York Historical Society (2024), “Once the Smoke Clears” at the Baltimore Museum of Art (2022), and “Flowers and Forts” at the Taipei Contemporary Art Center (2019).

Talks is a series of lectures by artists, writers and scholars presented by MFA Fine Arts. Talks are held on Tuesdays at 3:00pm at 133 West 21st Street in Room 101C and on Zoom. Participation in the Q&A is limited to MFA Fine Arts students attending the lecture in person.
