Crisp
SVA Continuing Education and Artist Residency Programs present “Crisp,” a group exhibition of work by The Artist Residency Project cohort of fall 2022, curated by Lauren Hirshfield and Kat Ryals of Paradice Palase. Artists in the exhibition include Susana Aldanondo, Chris Baily, Peter Buchman, Cindy Craig, Andrea De Luigi, Jacqueline Ehle Inglefield, Amelia Foster, Stephanie Garon, Sarah Gibeault, Murat Kahya, Szu Ling Liu, Laura Malone, Elizabeth McAlpin, Victoria Loren Miller, Faye Pamintuan, Wendy Ryals and Alyson Smith.
The Artist Residency Project is designed for fine artists working across discipline, medium and platform. Through online platforms, it aims to deliver a robust, global residency experience over the course of the five-week session. Working with SVA’s distinguished faculty, participants have developed their practice without the limitations of location or the necessity for travel.
The goal of The Artist Residency Project is to create an inclusive online space where artists can thrive, nurture their practice and build an active, engaged community.
The exhibition features artwork from 17 artists from seven countries and 14 cities around the world.

About the Curators
We strive to democratize the market for both creators and patrons.
Paradice Palase is a platform for emerging artists and collectors. They host an online membership and a digital space for viewing and collecting art. Kat Ryals and Lauren Hirshfield founded the platform in 2017 as an enacted critique of the entry barriers found within the contemporary art world. A two-woman operation, Paradice Palase is the love child of DIY and art world utopia. “We strive to democratize the market for both creators and patrons by offering career-forward networking, programming and resources, as well as curated online exhibitions of artwork, objects and prints for early-stage collectors. We also manage Oasis Studios—a 10-person studio building—in Brooklyn, NY.”

About SVA's Artist Residency Programs
SVA’s Artist Residencies offer artists, designers and creative thinkers time, space and a supportive community in which to develop ideas and focus on their artistic direction, with summer programs on campus in New York City, as well as year-round in online formats.
In addition to time-honored studio residencies, a variety of innovative professional immersion programs provide opportunities for artists to explore new areas of social and technological practice and engage critically within their field.
A unique combination of creative and professional resources provides a rich environment for growth and opportunity in the current, vibrant art scene.
On-campus housing is available, as are opportunities to display work.
