SVA Continuing Education presents faculty member Tom Motley for another round of comic challenges derived from his courses Comics Inventions, Cartooning Basics and Figure Drawing for Cartoonists. This time, attendees will make wacky critters and crisscross comics.


Required supplies: pencils, pens, an eraser and paper.

Tom Motley is a cartoonist, illustrator, and educator. His publications include The Brooklyn RailCartozia Tales, French Revolutions for BeginnersThe One Marvelous Thing and Penumbric. In the 1990s, he oversaw the comic-strip collective Hector, placing jam strips and experimental comics in zines, underground papers, and literary mags in the U.S. and abroad.
