Join Tom Motley and SVA Continuing Education for another round of daredoodles. This time, get down to brass tacks, reviewing the primary dares to warm up for Motley's upcoming online course, Comics Inventions, in which cartooning principles will be taught through creative challenges.


Tom Motley is a cartoonist, illustrator and educator. His publications include Tragic Strip (a monthly strip in the Brooklyn Rail), The Golden Ass, The One Marvelous Thing, and contributions to the indie anthology Cartozia Tales. In the 1990s, he oversaw the comic-book collective Hector, placing jam strips and experimental comics in zines, underground papers and literary mags in the U.S. and abroad.
