BFA Animation, BFA Computer Art, Computer Animation and Visual Effects, MFA Computer Arts, SVA Continuing Education and SVA Career Development present a screening of Floyd Norman: An Animated Life, a documentary about the life of award-winning animator, writer and comic book artist Floyd Norman. Afterwards there will be a Q&A with Norman, hosted by BFA Animation faculty members Howard Beckerman and Mario Menjivar. Doors open for SVA ID holders at 5:30pm. If seats remain, they will be released to the general public beginning at 6:00pm.The iconic Floyd Norman began his career as an in-betweener on Sleeping Beauty and went from there to work on such films as The Jungle Book, Toy Story 2 and Monsters, Inc. He made history as the first African American to work at Disney, and since then has become an award-winning animator, writer and comic book artist. With more than 60 years of experience and bearing the title of an official Disney Legend, he is a master of his craft and has opinions to share.
