MFA Fine Arts presents a talk by Grace Byron: “On Trans Self-Portraiture.”


Grace Byron is a writer from the Midwest based in Queens. Her writing has appeared in The New Yorker, New York Magazine, The Nation, The New Republic, The Baffler, and Vogue, among other outlets. Herculine is her debut novel. Her work centers on the intersection of identity, politics, (mis)recognition, and the perils of visibility. She frequently writes about books, art, films, and music for outlets like Frieze, Pitchfork, Screen Slate, and elsewhere. Find her @emotrophywife.


Talks is a series of lectures by artists, writers and scholars presented by MFA Fine Arts. Talks are held on Tuesdays at 3:00pm at 133 West 21st Street in Room 101C and on Zoom. Participation in the Q&A is limited to MFA Fine Arts students attending the lecture in person.
