i3 Photo Lecture: Maha Alasaker

Women of Kuwait
MPS Digital Photography presents a talk with Maha Alasaker, a multidisciplinary artist whose working mediums include photography, performance, textiles and natural dyes. Through her artwork, Alasaker tries to gain a deeper understanding of herself while attempting to engage issues of culture and identity. Her curiosity centers around how a woman’s upbringing affects identity and self-worth.
In 2019, Alasaker published her first photo book, Women of Kuwait, which was then acquired by the Getty Research Institute and The Thomas J. Watson Library at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The i3: Images, Ideas, Inspiration lecture series has returned to in-person events. The series continues to feature leading photographers, artists, editors, gallerists and industry experts. This summer, Daylight co-founder Michael Itkoff is the guest curator and host.
Registration is required; the event location will be given to all registrants. All attendees must observe SVA COVID-19 protocols while on campus, presenting proof of vaccination (plus booster, if applicable) upon request.
