MPS Digital Photography and ASMP New York present a masterclass on fine art digital printing with photographer Douglas Dubler.

The very appealing and fast-changing technology of digital print making has made it imperative to keep up to the minute with developments in this captivating art form.

Douglas Dubler was one of the founding members of Epson’s Stylus Pros and is also one of X-Rite’s Elite Master “Coloratti.” In a career that has spanned more than five decades, he has constantly pursued the elusive fine art print. From his early exposure to Ansel Adams’ Zone System, to dye transfer and platinum printing, Douglas has combined aesthetics and technology together with a very critical eye to produce exquisitely detailed analog and digital prints. He has taught at the educational venues Brooks Institute, International Center of Photography, School of Visual Arts: BFA & MFA, University of Miami: MFA Photography, New York Botanical Garden, Palm Beach Photographic Center, New World School of the Arts, and Xposure International Photography Festival, in Sharjah, U.A.E.

The presentation will cover the gamut of necessary components for achieving superior results in digital printing, from camera setup, through capture/scanning, monitor calibration, preparation of the file including editing & processing in Capture One, color management, paper selection, custom profiling, printing with a RIP, to mounting and framing. Both B&W and color printing will be covered. Large-format fine art digital prints will be displayed.

This event is free and open to ASMP members and SVA students. It is sponsored by BenQ, Calibrite, Canson, Capture One, GTI Graphic Technology Inc., Mirage, School of Visual Arts, Wacom, and Zeiss.

Free and open to the public
