The Explorer is a short 3D animated film that is also a dark comedy. During an exploratory journey to another planet, a young explorer, Bob, finds himself slowly losing what makes him unique. The look of the film is bright, playful, and toy-like, in an ironic contrast to the underlying dark tone of the story. This juxtaposition makes for a viewing experience that is both complex and entertaining.
