MFA Computer Arts presents a two-day thesis screening event at the SVA Theatre featuring short talks and videos of graduating students’ work. Wednesday’s screening will include 2D animation and motion graphics followed by experimental art and 3D animation on Thursday.

This showcase of over 30 thesis projects incorporates a variety of media, materials and cutting-edge technologies that address a range of topics, including: The Human Fossil by Rebecca Huang, an animated short film about an alien archaeologist’s mesmerizing encounter with the relics of human civilization; Functionless by Andres Salazar and Wenyi Zhang, an interactive 3D-generation tool exploring how surreal household items can become when we imagine their form separated from their function; and Deadline by Yazhi Zheng, Xiaoxiang Ava Long, Kaixi Kathy Yu, a 3D animation that depicts a freelance motion graphics artist's race against time to meet a critical deadline for a demanding client.

Screening times:

Wednesday, May 8, 7:00 – 9:00pm

Thursday, May 9, 7:00 – 9:00pm, with a reception to follow
