Al Svoboda uses a pragmatic approach to painting and sculpture that ensures easy storage and stealthy existence. In recent work, Svoboda makes oil paintings that share a size with a standard photograph, 4x6 inches, and builds 'scaffolding' around these pictures to hold them and delineate their space on the wall.
