Drawn to the enigma of mythical tales and creatures, Katinka create a cast of self-referential characters that function as recurring motifs, unfolding into peculiar stories that are a juxtaposition between reality and make believe. The distorted forms and figures transmute bidirectionally from sensual to grotesque, public to private, mundane to absurd and even women to bicycles. Katinka works on canvas and paper.
