MA Curatorial Practice presents “Not too hot, Not too cold,” a curatorial project organized and facilitated by student Sophia Park.
“Not too hot, Not too cold,” explores the role of friendship in art collectives and collaborative art practices. Friendship plays an integral part in society as it allows individuals outside of traditional lines of filiation to develop meaningful connections with each other. “Not too hot, Not too cold” proposes friendship as a critical relationship that both provides structures of care for artists and possibilities for exhibiting collective practices. An assorted soft archive of Correspondence Archive, Friend of a Friend, Risolana, Reading Sideways Press, Domestic Notes and KUNCI Study Forum & Collective will be presented in an effort to exhibit each group’s friendships and art practice.
“I’ll see you in the group chat,” a moderated public conversation inquiring into friendship and collectivity, will take place on Friday, April 14, 3:00 – 5:00pm, at SVA CP Project Space, 132 West 21st Street, prior to the exhibition reception. This program is open to the public and harvest from the conversation will be used in a future zine-making workshop. Participants will receive more information about the workshop during the program.
“I’ll see you in the group chat” conversation: Friday, April 14, 3:00 – 5:00pm
