Sustainability, health, wellness, accessibility and stigma have rapidly become the new tenets of successful marketing campaigns as brands focus more on creating products and strategies that connect with socially and environmentally conscious customers.
Join Jazmin Correa, John Rea and Valerie Smaldone for a discussion on purpose-led marketing that explores the latest strategies and tactics. The panelists will share how they have integrated purpose into their marketing efforts and explain the impact it has had. Attendees will learn about the emerging marketing and advertising trends driving societal change and how brands are aiming to create a healthier and more compassionate planet. The discussion will also showcase how digital and social media channels can act as accelerators for social change, bringing ideas and causes to the forefront of society and expanding their reach. Attendees will leave the workshop with ideas to implement purpose-led marketing in their own organizations, and receive a recording of the webinar.

Jazmin Correa Headshot
Jazmin Correa is an award-winning advertising strategist in active pursuit of digital ideas that transform our world. Her career began at top agencies in New York City, where she was a driving force behind innovative channel strategies for brands including Disney, Remy Martin and CFA Institute. Her desire to serve a broader community led her to the Peace Corps, where she volunteered with the Philippine National Weather Bureau to design digital-forward climate change and disaster awareness campaigns for people in vulnerable regions. Currently, she is the global director at Merck where she leads creative digital strategy for pressing health issues, driving awareness of infectious diseases and motivating vaccination uptake. Correa received her MSc in behavioral sciences from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences and a BS in integrated marketing communications and legal studies from Ithaca College.

John Rea is the creative director of digital marketing at Havas Tonic, where he is responsible for developing ideas that require multi-channel execution, as well as concept development of integrated digital platforms. Prior to his position at Havas Tonic, he worked in advertising for clients such as Coca-Cola, Intel, Volvo and Claritin, and as a designer at Rolling Stone.
Through his pro-bono work for Debra of America, a non-profit that helps children born with Epidermolysis Bulosa, Rea has helped to raise millions of dollars, leading his work to be featured in a TEDx Talk and awarded recognitions such as W3 Best Online Video Documentary, AdAge Marketing Award and Clio Health and an Impact Video Campaign of the Year (Gold). As an adjunct professor at the School of Visual Arts for over 25 years, he continues to be actively involved in connecting students with internship programs, fellowships and jobs.

Valerie Smaldone
Valerie Smaldone is a five-time Billboard Magazine Award winner known for her success holding the #1 on-air position in the New York radio market. She has hosted, produced and created several nationally syndicated programs featuring in-depth interviews with top recording artists such as Paul McCartney, Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, Elton John and Mariah Carey, among others. Having interviewed hundreds of celebrities, performers and entrepreneurs, she is an accomplished interviewer who is always interested in procuring each individual’s unique story. Smaldone also produces and hosts live and virtual events for the global holistic and wellbeing hospitality brand, Healing Hotels of the World, based in Germany.
