After winning the Beijing Opera’s National Competition in 1987, Hong Wang moved to New York with his family on an artist visa, to pursue even bigger dreams. Although he has had to work a variety of manual labor jobs to support his family, he has never given up on his passion for Beijing-style Opera. He is now part of a troupe of Chinese immigrants who put on an annual production of traditional Beijing Opera.
