Join MFA Visual Narrative for its annual Storyteller’s Series, a free lecture program held at the School of Visual Arts. Professionals are invited from across a vast range of creative disciplines to share how they’ve applied their visual narrative practice to the work they do. Past guests have included illustrators, VR specialists, experience designers, sound artists and more.


Thomas Slattery (MFA 2017 Visual Narrative) is a production designer, art director, concept and storyboard artist based in New York. He has art directed numerous television and feature film projects such as Generation Loss (JK, 2023), Janet Planet (A24, 2023), Pop Pop (GreaseNYC, 2023) and more. Slattery has storyboarded for a diverse range of clients, including Google Pixel, DuoLingo, among others. His concept art and fabrication designs have been commissioned by HighSnobiety, Crocs, Tiffany’s and Josh Kline studio.


Slattery’s talk for the Storyteller Series will encompass the many facets of his career and how he continues to evolve as a creative storyteller across disciplines.
