During the workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to learn the basics of screen printing, try the screen printing process out by printing their own t-shirt and tour the SVA Printshop. Experienced instructors Alejandro Chen Li (MFA 2018 Illustration as Visual Essay; BFA 2009 Fine Arts), Gunars Prande (MFA 1993 Fine Arts; BFA 1982 Media Arts) and Larry B. Wright and will guide attendees through the process step by step, ensuring that everyone leaves the workshop with a finished product to wear and show off.
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned designer, this workshop is designed to help you unleash your creativity and imagine the possibilities of screen printing. Come and enjoy a fun and engaging evening of learning and creating, and leave with a hand-printed SVA t-shirt.

Larry B. Wright is master printer at Larry B. Wright Art Productions. Wright is represented by Keys Gallery, Sag Harbor, NY. He has worked as an assistant to Robert Rauschenberg and was co-founder and art director of WTC News.

Alejandro Chen Li (MFA 2018 Illustration as Visual Essay; BFA 2009 Fine Arts) is printmaking manager at the School of Visual Arts. He earned his BFA and MFA at the School of Visual Arts. Instagram: @anchenli.

Gunars Prande (MFA 1993 Fine Arts; BFA 1982 Media Arts) is a printmaker and the printmaking facilities director of operations at the School of Visual Arts. Prande received a BFA and MFA from the School of Visual Arts, he also studied at Rochester Institute of Technology.
