Artist Statement:
This series of ongoing works is for those who live between departure and arrival, forever eager to find a place to belong.
Where did all the birds go?
Birds are the home of the trees.
But where did all the birds go?
I asked the pines, they shuddered, dropping a thousand needle tears
The wind howls, my hair flies.
Will you still remember me? I left my home a long long time ago.
I asked the pond, it rippled, turned, so I saw my own floating
It’s the face of my mother.
She used to tie the keys with a red thread, dangling against her chest.
Kling Kling Kling
No one is home.
Bang, Bang, Bang.
My mother set the house on fire!
Go, my little bird! Go!
I ran through the woods, trees whipped my face, tore my dress, the white eyes blinked.
The night splits legs, spread thee breath
As quiet as my feather, as heavy as my heart.
I closed my eyelids
The birds are all gone.
