Andrew Diemer (he/him), Zine Maker, Bootlegger, Educator and Artist who works professionally as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator in New York City, will lead a workshop exploring the vast potential of zine making, delving into its social, political, and artistic significance. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of zines, their history, and their power as tools for social design, with a hands-on zine-making demonstration at the end!
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Andrew has been a proud resident and member of the indie publishing scene in Brooklyn, NY for the last 12+ years. His work in the zine world revolves around educating artists and designers about the social and political utility of zines, the vast beauty and expressive potential of the artform, as well as their physical and metaphysical properties. Andrew has collected, made, designed, and self published zines under his own name for the last 10+ years, and has contributed in the past under a variety of independent presses and side projects to form his body of work.
