June is here and the 2024–25 academic year is over. With Pride Month in full swing, the New York City mayoral race heating up, and the whole world reacting to the Trump administration’s recent moves, here are six Instagram accounts to follow from various members of the SVA community. 


Zipeng Zhu (faculty, BFA Design; BFA 2013 Design) 

Zipeng Zhu is a Chinese-born designer, illustrator and animator living in Brooklyn. Zhu’s Dazzle Studio has worked for such brands as Adidas, Adobe, Animal Planet, CNN, Google, Instagram, Microsoft, Netflix, The New Yorker, Samsung, Twitter, Viacom, and more. Follow him at @zzdesign.

Edel Rodriguez (faculty, BFA Illustration)

A Cuban American artist, illustrator, author, and agit-prop pioneer, BFA Illustration faculty member Edel Rodriguez has built a following for his timely, politically conscious posts. His work is regularly published in Der Spiegel, Newsweek, The New Yorker, andTime, and he is a regular contributor to The New York Times’s opinion section. Follow him at @edelrodriguezstudio.

Tim Schutsky  (BFA 2014 Photography and Video)

Queens-based freelance photographer Tim Schutsky is known for his naturalistic but multifaceted style, and propensity for capturing the oddities of life in New York City. His work has been featured in The Face, Interview, The New York Times, Vice, Vogue, Wallpaper. Follow him at @timschutsky.

Kelli J. Prizner (MFA 2025 Visual Narrative)

A Pittsburgh native, Kelli Prizner makes narrative-focused art, namely comics and pre-production for animation. She has recently finished several projects, including her SVA thesis, The Trail of Dead Leaves, and The Corner of Smoke and Mirrors, an online comic she co-authored. Follow her at @mewzieart.

Dina Litovsky (MFA 2010 Photography, Video, and Related Media)

New York-based, Ukrainian-born photographer Dina Litovsky is known for her work that explores subcultures and social gatherings. Her work has been featured in publications like National Geographic, The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, and Time. Follow her at @dina_litovsky.

Chris Stein (1973 Fine Arts)

Best known as the guitarist, songwriter, and co-founder of Blondie, Chris Stein (1973 Fine Arts) is also a celebrated photographer and author who often captures New York culture with a fly-on-the-wall street style. He has published several books of his photos as well as a memoir, last year’s Under a Rock. Follow him at @christein
