The Ludlow Residence

The Ludlow Residence is SVA’s residence hall located in the heart of the Lower East Side, one of New York City’s most historic and cultural neighborhoods. The rooms are in suites, connected by a shared bathroom, single-to-single or single-to-double. Double rooms have lofted beds to accommodate a larger living area for the residents. Single room beds are not lofted. Single rooms are on average 8 x 10', and double rooms are on average 16 x 20'. Linens, televisions, cable and internet cords are NOT provided.

If you register for Residency I and II (Illustration/Painting/SVA TypeLab/Fine Art) you do not need to move out in between sessions.
Housing registration will take place electronically through the SVA Residency Department, residency@sva.edu once residents are accepted into their program.
SVA Residency Summer Housing Cancellation Policy
- You must be completely registered for the Residency Program before your summer housing registration can be processed.
- Payment for summer housing must be paid in full prior to your arrival date.
- Flat rates will not be prorated upon early move-out or late move-in. Should you decide to depart earlier or arrive later than your contracted date, you will still be responsible for the entire summer housing flat rate.
- Please allow up to seven business days to receive your summer housing placement confirmation email.
- All cancellations for housing must be submitted in writing via email to summerhousing@sva.edu 14 business days prior to the occupancy start date of the housing registration. Cancellation notifications that are sent 14 business days prior to the occupancy start date for housing will be eligible for a 100% refund of housing charges. After this window, residents are ineligible for a refund of housing charges.
The 23rd Street Residence

The 23rd Street Residence Hall is an apartment-style residence hall located next door to SVA’s Main building, which makes it very convenient to access the campus quickly. Apartments are two or three-bedroom apartments (for SVA Residency program participants, students will be placed in private bedrooms within apartments [2-3 people per apartment.] Apartment placement will always be same-gender placement, within the apartment setting.) Linens, televisions, cable and internet cords are NOT provided.
