    • Site: where would you like for your exhibition to take place? Choose any venue that you like, from a museum to your home to a public place. Be as adventurous as you wish.
    • Checklist of artists: provide names of artists and a sample thumbnail image of a work by each artist.
    • An exhibition design: a sketch of the way you would lay out the exhibition or other curatorial project. This is not a test. We simply want to get a sense of your current thinking in order to understand the starting point for your curatorial training.

  • It is preferable for applicants to have a thorough knowledge of twentieth- and twenty-first century art history, or equivalent in their cultural field, through their undergraduate education or proven in their subsequent work experience. Applicants with prior cultural experience who are seeking the next level of advancement in their careers are encouraged. Combining hands-on practical training, along with intellectual engagement and societal concerns toward a more equitable and just world, our program provides the requisite education for graduates of the program to enter the professional field. Together, we will interrogate established and new ideas about the intersection of objects, actions, spatial planning, presentation, and knowledge production in sociopolitical and cultural contexts. We are interested in candidates who will contribute to an intellectual and socially engaged community, as we consider the program a professional hub within both the global and local art worlds and society at large.

  • Select applicants will be invited for an interview either in person or online via Zoom.

Additional Information

  • We seek applicants who are passionate about art and are intellectually ambitious. Our students come from all walks of life, have studied many different subjects--not just art history--and want the professional training to become curators at the vast number of institutions that hire people in the field globally, from museums to alternative art spaces, art foundations, biennials, commercial art galleries, auction houses, private collections, corporate collections, and more. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are important to us.

    • The program offers small need-based scholarships on an individual basis. Please note that these scholarships will only support a minimal portion of tuition.

We support diversity of every kind.
