¡LOTERIA! is Mariana Otalora’s reimagining of Loteria Mexicana, a bingo-style board game that’s very popular in her native Mexico. In her immersive interpretation of the game, stylized photographs based on her childhood memories replace the original’s traditional objects and folkloric characters. These images take the form of a deck of cards and game boards, allowing viewers to play the game and recall memories from their own childhood.
