Sleepless nights of endless anxiety. Waking up only to realize it wasn’t a dream. Stories of a chaotic world filled the silence of my world at home, which in most aspects was seemingly normal. A heartbreaking awakening of my extreme privilege. A deep sadness knowing that the pain I felt was only a fraction of what others were feeling. And had been for years. Decades. Centuries. My experience of 2020 was privileged, more or less an annoying inconvenience. But that is not to say that I wasn’t kept awake all night. Disgusted, concerned. Sorrowful behind my smile all day. My mind racing for a solution, a way to help. This problem was so much bigger than me, yet I was a part of the problem. Recognizing that felt like the first step.

Cory encouraged me to take my ideas and run with them. She thoughtfully nurtured my ambition and really helped me work through all my visions. I am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her.
