SVA Intern and Visiting student registration for Summer 2025 is now open as of February 11, 2025. To register select the building you are interested in, each page has additional links to register for specific occupancy.

Register for Housing at One of Our Three Residences

Please complete our interest form to be added to our email list for updates regarding rates/availability and registration. The School of Visual Arts offers summer housing for students and interns looking to spend the summer in NYC! All SVA's accommodations offer the following amenities: 

  • 24-hour security

Flat rates will not be prorated upon early departure or late arrival. All rates are per person. Full payment is due at the time of registration. Completing the registration process confirms that you have read and agree to the SVA housing and guest policies and the cancellation policy. Rooms and registrations are not transferable.

  • Intern Program Housing Tours for Summer 2025 Housing


    (Please be advised that housing tours are not held on weekends or days when the college is closed. )



    24th Street & Gramercy Residences

    • 2pm, Monday - Friday (Tours start promptly at 2pm- visitors will be guided to see options for interns at the 24th Street & Gramercy Residences)
    • Tours leave from the 24th Street Residence Hall, Office of Residence Life at 340 E. 24th Street, New York 10010, (at corner of 1st Avenue).


    Ludlow Residence

    • 12:00 - 2:00 pm, Monday - Friday
    • Tours leave from the Ludlow Residence at 101 Ludlow St., b/t Rivington and Delancey Streets (Go directly to the Ludlow Residence for housing tour)

    1. Select the residence and occupancy that you would like to register for by clicking on the link.
    2. You will be connected to our intern summer housing registration page, SVA's intern housing registration website.
    3. You will be asked to fill out your personal information.
    4. Parents, if you are registering your child, this needs to be filled out with their contact information, not yours.
    5. You will select the housing option for your registration and add it to your shopping cart
    6. Next you will be asked for your payment information. Payment in FULL is required to register for summer housing. We do not accept deposits or payment plans. All forms of credit cards are accepted. Please make sure to review our cancellation policy (below) before registering.
    7. Next you will go to a confirmation page.
    8. This will complete your housing registration. Once you have paid and registered, your housing is guaranteed for the building, room type, and dates that you have selected.

  • We do our best accommodate all suitemate and roommate requests. However, we DO NOT guarantee them. All placements are subject to availability.


    Roommate and Suitemate Requests are only available for the following building and/or room types:

    • Gramercy: All
    • Ludlow: All
    • 24th Street: All


    Other Requests: We will not honor other requests such as floor placement or living "near someone.

    How to Request a Roommate and/or Suitemate

    Roommate and/or suitemate(s) request must be submitted via the SVA Summer Intern Roommate Request form. Phone or Fax requests will not be considered. Each resident must submit their own roommate/suitemate request.


    After you have submitted your roommate request, you will be taken to a confirmation page. Please do not call or email regarding the roommate/suitemate request. You will receive your roommate assignment when you receive your housing assignment and a courtesy notice of your roommate request receipt with your preliminary confirmation.

  • Mixed-gender roommates and/or suitemates are permitted. However, we will not place mixed gendered roommates in an apartment or connecting suite with other roommate/suitemates that are not acquainted with you and your roommate. If ALL of the roommate/suitemates are requesting to live with each other, then your request will be considered. If we are unable to accommodate your request, then you will be placed in a same gender apartment.


    Ludlow Requests: If you wish to request a mix-gender double room placement at the Ludlow Residence, which is linked to a single room via a suite-style bathroom, all three occupants must request one another in this type of matching.


  • Cancellations made before April 18, 2025, are subject to a $1,000.00 cancellation fee.


    After April 21, 2025, registrants are responsible for the full cost of their registration; refunds are not provided.


    • Any request to cancel a housing registration must be made by emailing the Summer Housing Office from the email account registered with the summer occupants account to: summerhousing@sva.edu.


    • Cancellation requests are processed based on the date the cancellation is received. All cancellations received after 4 pm EST will be processed the following business day. All requests to cancel housing are subject to a cancellation charge outlined below:


    • Cancellation on or before April 18, 2025, 4pm EST: Refund of housing costs, less a $1,000 cancellation fee


    • Cancellation after April 21, 2025, 4pm EST: NO REFUND


    • Room registrations are NOT transferable (you can not transfer a registration to another person or name).
