Internship-for-Credit Program

SVA Career Development manages the College’s Internship-for-Credit Program, allowing qualified juniors, seniors, and graduate students to earn credit while gaining hands-on experience working with creative professionals.

The application period for the spring 2026 Internship-for-Credit Program is now open. The Important Dates are listed below, and all of the Resources at the bottom of the page have been updated for the spring semester. For more information, please email cd@sva.edu.

New Information for International Students:

• You must apply at least three full business weeks before your internship Start Date.
• You will ask your Employer for a Letter of Hire only after your internship-for-credit has been approved by Career Development.

Important Dates for Spring 2026

Online application opens: Wednesday, December 3

FIRST DAY students may work: Monday, January 12*, first day of spring semester

(if all approval steps are met)

Online application closes: Friday, January 16 at Noon

Online internship course begins: Early February

All internship coursework due: Monday, April 20

LAST DAY students may work at internship: Monday, May 4

*International students who want to begin working on January 12 must apply by December 5.

NOTE: SVA offices will be closed December 18 through January 2. No applications or I-20s will be processed during Winter Recess.

All applications must be submitted through the SVA 12twenty platform during the designated application cycle for each semester. Please review the Resources below before submitting an internship application.
