Internship-for-Credit Program

SVA Career Development manages the College’s Internship-for-Credit Program, allowing qualified juniors, seniors, and second-year graduate students to earn credit while gaining hands-on experience working with creative professionals.

The application period for the spring 2026 Internship-for-Credit Program has closed. The Important Dates for summer 2026 are listed below, and all of the Resources at the bottom of the page have been updated for the summer semester. For more information, please email cd@sva.edu.

New Information for International Students:

• You must apply at least three full business weeks before your internship Start Date.
• You will ask your Employer for a Letter of Hire only after your internship-for-credit has been approved by Career Development.

Important Dates for Summer 2026

Online application opens: Monday, April 13

FIRST DAY students may work: Tuesday, May 5*, first day of summer semester

(if all approval steps are met)

Online application closes: Monday, June 1 at Noon

Online internship course begins: Late June

All internship coursework due: Monday, August 10

LAST DAY students may work at internship: Monday, August 24

*International students who want to begin working on May 5 must apply by April 15.

All applications must be submitted through the SVA 12twenty platform during the designated application cycle for each semester. Please review the Resources below before submitting an internship application.
