Continuing Education

Want to take your designs to the next level? This course will cover the techniques to elevate your two-dimensional designs with additive processes like embossing, debossing, texturing, layering, etching, relief printing and extruding. Part design, part fabrication, you will work in a digital laboratory, creating physical objects from your designs with specialty tools like laser cutters, UV printers and 3D printers. By the end of the course, you will have several finished objects that we will photograph to add to your portfolio. No fabrication experience necessary, but a moderate understanding of Adobe Illustrator is recommended.
NOTE: All students with an active registration in this course will be given free access to the Adobe Creative Cloud. The materials fee covers a set amount of materials, including but not limited to 3D printing consumables, laser cutting materials, and printing inks and papers. This course is held on campus at SVA in the Wilde Lab, a state-of-the-art rapid prototyping facility and fabrication space.
