This behind-the-scenes workshop will begin to unfold the secrets of the art of the animated picture book (aka the pop-up). Through demonstrations in layer folds, tip-ons, double v-folds and rotators, we will visualize how to transform flat paper into 3D images. All participants will build a pop-up animal creature or greeting card design. Cardstock will be provided.
NOTE: Please bring scissors, double stick tape/artists tape and pen/pencil (optional materials include X-ACTO, color pencils and markers). This course is held on campus at SVA.
